Thank you for your question. I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower drive. I will be happy to assist you with determining the problem. First, remove the belt cover on the front of the mower. Then make sure the cable from the handle is connected to the lever on the gear case. Just have a helper engage the drive while you watch the lever on the gear case. If the lever moves, the cable should be fine. Then start the engine and engage the drive lever. If the pulley on the top of the gear case is not turning, the belt needs to be replaced. If the pulley is turning, look on the side of the gear case to see if the drive axles are turning. If they are not turning, the gear case needs to be replaced. If they are turning, the problem is likely the wheels. On the inside of the wheels, there are plastic teeth that mesh with the drive gears on the end of the drive axles. If the plastic teeth are worn off, the mower will not drive. To check the plastic teeth the wheels need to be removed. Once the wheels are off, look on the backside of the wheel for the plastic teeth. If they are worn, the wheel needs to be replaced. Once you determine the problem, the part or parts can be ordered from the following link. Craftsman mower parts I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I should be able help you remove the tank on your mower. I have provided you with an image below. First, remove the screw towards the engine cover I have boxed in red on the image. Once the cover is remove look around the fuel tank. Remove any screws you see mounting the tank. Now remove the dipstick and pull up on the fuel tank. The tank usually has tabs that fit into the blower housing so make sure to line those up before you push the tank back on. If you need further assistance please submit more details.
