Q:

will pn 194231X427 wheel substitute for pn 155955 wheel?

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when looking for parts.   Glad to help out to see if the one substitutes to the other.   The part number 194231x427 states it is a rear whel.   The part number 155955 doesn't pull up as a part number at all so I am sorry can't tell.   As long as I have a model number, then I can make sure you get the exact wheel you need.   Can you get that for me please?   It is located between the two rear wheels on the frame.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Sorry, my mistake, the pn is 155944, my mower is 917.377272. I find the 194231x427 is about half price of the 155944. Maybe the x427 wheel will fit the 1 5/8 offset and 54 teeth, 1/2 shaft inch id. Hoping.

Hello Joe glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when it comes to the pricing of the parts.

You can't let the price deter  you because everything is stipulated by the model number.   If you go by size and looks you will do wrong.   These things matter by the model number only.   What I would do is call 1-800-366-7278.   Ask them to do a price match for you.   That way you will get the best price plus get the correct parts.  Using your model number,  The correct and only wheels I know to put on are part number 752063.    Good luck.

If you have further questions please let me know.

"The correct and only wheels I know to put on are part number 752063" That pn is for the BACK wheel. Pay attention. Did you lookup pn 155944? It is clearly a FRONT DRIVE WHEEL. Look at the specifications for each wheel. Call your engineering section if you have to. The 155944 is an 8X2, 1/2 inch shaft ID, 54 tooth 1 5/8 shaft mounting length. Engineering will know if the X427 will work on my mower 917.377272. Keep going until you get the answer.

Hello Joe glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Sorry for the miscommunication.   When I put in the part number 19423x427 is Sears Parts Direct.  IT stipulated the size but also called it a rear wheel and so that is why I was going with the ony information given me.   I am sorry but now I am looking at the front wheel for model 917.377272.   My fault, I should of asked.  Now I am looking at the front wheel.  Original part number was 155944 but has an updated part number 193144.   It is the only wheel that will fit.   The part number 197231x427 will not fit.   You have a front wheel drive so you will need the correct wheels.

Again sorry for the confusion Joe.   I was going by the part number which wasn't the right part number to go by.

Have a great day and good luck.

Thank you for your question.

Most likely, the carburetor does have some build up from old gas that remained in the carburetor over the winter. You can watch THIS VIDEO to use as a reference for cleaning your carburetor. I'm not sure why the manual says not to use carb cleaner unless they're worried about plastics that may be on the carburetor. If you carburetor looks a bit different than the carburetor in the video let me know because the situation will be different. From the pictures they show me of your engine it should match up very closely with the one in the video. If you end up needing to use carburetor cleaner, just make sure to not spray it on plastic and painted surfaces. Anything on or in the carburetor will be okay though.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
