My key start mower model # is 917.377030 a self-propelled or push mower. The key start has not worked since day one. I put another battery on the mower at the advice of a technician because he said that is all it could be but that didn't work either. Tell me how to charge the battery. The charger I have with the mower plugs into a 110 outlet and then into the mower connector.

Disconnect the battery wires from the mower wiring harness. Connect the wires from the battery charger to the battery wires. Plug the battery charger into a 120 volt circuit for 16-24 hours. The charger won't overcharge the battery. It will cut back to a trickle charge when the battery is charged.
