A:

Remove the cable from the bail arm on the handle. Remove the bolt securing the cable housing to the handle. Remove the spark plug wire. Remove the belt cover on the front of the mower. Tip the mower onto its side so the oil fill tube is down. This makes it easier to see where the cable connects. Unhook the cable end from the transmission. Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the cable clip from the bottom to remove the cable housing from the mower housing. Route the cable in the same direction and reverse these steps to connect the cable. Make sure to secure the cable to the handle with wire ties if needed. I hope this assists you better. Please let me know.

Q:

I have a 1 yr old front propelled lawn mower. Only the right wheel pulls. The left only spins when lift the front up. It was fine last year.

A:

Remove the left front wheel from the mower. See if you can turn the pinion gear with your fingers. It has a roll pin driven through the axle and you shouldn't be able to turn it. If you can turn it, remove the c-clip from the end of the axle and slide the gear off the shaft. The roll pin will have to be replaced.

If you can turn the gear with your fingers and the axle turns with it, something has broken or come loose inside the gearbox.

If you repair or replace the gearbox and need more advice send another email. The lawn mower has a 2 year warranty and if the gearbox is the problem, you can take the mower in for free repair.
