If this is correct, the part number for the fuel cap is 796577 and can be ordered from the following link. Replacement cap for engine model number 122T02-1027-B1.

Since the wheels are good and everything has been lubricated, I believe Michael is right that you should check the gear box next. You'll need to remove the gear box from the mower in order to open it up and inspect the worm gear and drive gear.
