Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. I suspect you tipped the mower to check the damage under the mower. If you had tipped mower so the air filter was down, it would cause this problem. The oil will flow out of the crankcase breather and saturate the air filter. This will also cause the fuel in the carburetor to leak out. I recommend removing the air filter and wipe up any oil that leaked out. Then add oil as needed to bring the level back to full. Once that is done start the engine with the air filter off. The mower will smoke until the oil is burnt. It should stop smoking with in five minutes. If the smoking stops, install a new air filter. The mower should be ready for normal operation.
