Thank you for the question. I am sorry the mower is giving you problems. By what you have explained I suspect the carburetor has debris floating around in the float bowl. I recommend cleaning or replacing the carburetor. To clean the carburetor the float bowl has to be removed, the float bowl, and the passages cleaned with carburetor cleaner and compressed air. I have provided you with an image below showing the break down of the carburetor.

I checked and the carburetor cost about $25.00. I recommend replacing the carburetor because it may save a lot of frustration in the long run. Here is a link to order the carburetor

What is the inches equivalent to the numbers 1-9 on the wheels of a lawn mower to adjust height? It is a model 917.376541.

A:

We don't have the inches to numbers conversion. The adjusters on the wheels are not precise enough to give the inches per number.

You need to adjust the wheels and mow in an area of the yard where it doesn't matter. Measure the grass after mowing a few feet or look at the grass to decide which height you want.
