Q:

Oil leak - possible causes and repair parts? Model No. 917.376406 917376406 Craftsman Lawn mower

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

There are many places on the engine that could be leaking oil from. Just a couple would be the oil drain plug, gaskets, anything that could would hold oil really. The best way would be to pressure off the engine (when cold) get all the oil off and watch where it’s leaking from. Also yes if you over fill the oil it will leak very fast, what you doing is add more pressure to gaskets and seals.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.
