Q:

Motor cut-out 917375511 Craftsman Mower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

This could be caused by several things. I would make sure the air filter is clean, as it could restrict air flow and cause the engine to die. It could also be an issue with the fuel cap not venting. This would build negative pressure in the tank and cause the engine to die. Another factor would be that debris is being sucked into the fuel jet in the carburetor, and when the engine dies, it falls back out. A carburetor cleaning would be needed for that case.

These would be the most likely areas to start with and check. I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Having to maintain your mower can be quite a job. I have done some research on your model on the Manage My Life website and have located the owners manual to your model. While you are waiting for a detailed reply from an expert I have provided the link below. Hope this helps!

Just remove the dipstick and turn the mower onto its side to drain the oil out. Several years back some machines used a plug underneath and the result was that it was more of a hassle to drain it that way so the engine manufacturer stopped putting the plugs on the bottom and went back to just turning the machine on its side.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

I will forward your question to an expert who will investigate the matter further and get back to you. You will hear from them within two business days if not sooner. Until you hear from us, have a nice day.

I'm sorry, if the diagram was not clear in the description. The pulley and the spring are two separate pieces. However, the part number you have is not for your model, it will not fit. The correct part number for tthe pulley is 199852 and the part number for the spring is 183501. You can place the order yourself on searspartdirect.com.
