Question and Answers

Q:

help me get my new lawn mower started

A:

It can definitely be exciting when you purchase a band new tool, especially a lawn mower. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and found a great link that can help you out with your problem. Also, I would definitely recommend you referring back to the owners manual and getting as much information as you can from it. If you do not have your owners manuals I was able to locate it here on the Manage My Life website. I attached these links below if you are interested in viewing. Have a nice day.

This engine is made with a type of "auto-choke" that is operated on heat. When the engine starts and warms up, the choke is slowly moved to full open position. I have a seen a few of these machines that were hard to start when new or when completely out of fuel. It seems to take a few more pulls to get the engine to start as the fuel has to be pulled all the way through the system. By that, I mean if the engine would normally take 2 pulls to start it may take 5-6 pulls to start.

If you've pulled on it more than 10 times and it's still not starting I would say there is an issue. With the machine being new, I recommend you contact the store where purchased to see if they maybe send someone by to take a look at it and get it going.

Because it's a new machine I would tend to think there is something possibly going on with the auto choke system on it. I really don't recommend taking the machine apart to try and tend to that sort of thing if it's not something you're used to dealing with as it can be a little bit confusing.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
