We don't have a diagram for cleaning the muffler. To remove the muffler, bend the tabs on the locking bar so you can turn the mounting bolts to remove them. Turn the bolts counter clockwise to remove.

With the muffler removed from the engine tap on the edges of the muffler to knock any loose rust out of the muffler. Blow the muffler out with compressed air from the exhaust side in.

Another possibility for the reason your lawn mower is stopping is a stopped up vent in the gas cap. Next time you mow time the mower and after 5-10 minutes, remove the gas cap and reinstall it. If this prolongs the time you can mow, replace the gas cap.
