I have one photo (attached below) of the inside of the transmission. I haven't had one of these opened up in years. With shop rates being what they are, most often people opt for a whole new transmission so I really just haven't had the opportunity to get into one for photos.

I would suspect the pinion being worn before the selector fork, but either could be causing this to happen. You may just want to replace them both as I know it's a bit of a pain to open these transmissions up.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tiller. The tiller has a chain inside of the transmission that drives the tines. If the tines are not working but everything else is I suspect the chain or gears failed. There is two ways to repair this. The first is to replace the complete transmission. The part number for the transmission is 181098 and can be ordered from the following link.
