I have a Craftsman rototiller 917292480 with a Briggs and Stratton engine. What is the intake and exhaust valve clearance for the engine? 917292480

The intake and exhaust valve clearance will each be set between .004"-.006" on this Briggs engine. I have posted the Briggs manual below for convenience.

Check the fuel line, where it connects to the carburetor, and make sure it is secure and not leaking there. If the line looks good, then I suspect a problem with the carburetor. You will likely need to clean the carburetor to take care of this problem. You can click the link I've attached below to see how to correctly clean a carburetor similar to yours.

Where are these links that you and others are talking about? Can someone help me, I give the part numbers from the manual to the person at the toll free number and they could not match the numbers from the parts manual to the computer. I spent an hour on the phone today and as the result I'm totally frustrated with Sears ans Craftsman. Is there a trick to the model and part numbers? We put in all numbers leaving out hyphens snd periods.

This tiller uses (API-SF-SJ) SAE 30 oil in temperatures above 32 degrees fahrenheit and SAE 5W-30 below 32 degrees fahrenheit.
 
This tiller uses an air filter cartridge, part number 697029,  and a pre-filter, part number 273356S. If by the lid, you mean the air filter cover, that part number is 693460. If you meant another part, please resubmit your question with a description and location of the lid and we will be happy to try and identify it for you. These parts have been substituted by the manufacturer so they may look a little different, but are guaranteed to fit your model.
