Thanks. I did not see an alternator listed on the link to electrical parts, and I did not see it on the diagram. Does the part come with complete instructions for installation? CP

You may very well be able to take care of this yourself. The cable has changed to part number 435111, available HERE .

The cable should still be connected at the handle (based on your description) so take a look at it there and then remove the old and connect the new. Then route it down to the deck exactly as it is currently routed, then attach the end of the black cable cover as it is currently. Then pull the spring up to the idler bracket and connect it in the hole. Turn the hook so the opening in it is up and connect it into the bracket. There should be just one hole in that bracket where it connects and the paint will likely be worn off right around the hole just from use, so you can more than likely see where it connected at.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the front link. I have added an image below that shows how the front link connects to the deck. If you are missing the retainer pin, you can use a cotter pin instead. Once you have the link connected check the level of the deck. The second image below shows how to adjust the level of the deck.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the tractor.

Here is a link to order any parts you need. Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
