A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It could be one of the many pulleys on the tractor. Is it when you just start to go? Dose the noise go away after the brake fully released? It could also be the brake pads on the transmission that may need to be replaced. If you could provide some more detail information so we can further assist you.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

The noise begins when I lift my foot from the brake/clutch and continues until I depress the brake/clutch. The tractor does not need to be moving. The noise occurs both when standing still and when the drive is engaged. When I depress the brake/clutch the noise subsides.

I described the symptom clearly above. Doesn't anyone have any idea about which idler pulley it probably is? I mean, "one of the many pulleys" or "the brake pads" Really? Is there an "EXPERT" with a better idea? Thanks Glenn
