I recommend that check under the seat to get the complete model number if the number is the same then add a “0” at the end, so it would be 917.276840.

My right front tire "broke" loose from steering mechanism. What do I need to repair it?

if the wheel just came off the spindle there is a c-clip that holds the wheel onto the spindle. you can look at the other side by taking the dust cap off and see the e-clip and washers.

Clarification: The tire is still attached to the axle and rotates fine. When you turn the steering wheel it does not turn. It turns on it own making it impossible to drive.

If the wheel is not damaged you should be able to just reinstall it, there are a couple parts you will most likely need unless you found them after the wheel fell off.
