Q:

Gas tank removal on Craftsman LT3000 917276813 Craftsman Tractor

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to remove the fuel tank on your mower.

First, move the tractor to a well ventilated area. Then remove the tractor hood. You should see the two blots on each side of the tank that secures it to the frame. Remove the two bolts and see if you can get the tan to clear the dash. If it will not clear the dash, click on the image below. You have to remove the steering wheel and the bushing on the column. Then remove the two bolts on the side of the dash and flex the dash back. This should give you enough room to work the tank out. Once you have enough clearance to remove the tank, place a container under the tank, and remove the fuel line. Then place your finger over the tank outlet and remove the tank. Place the tank over an approved container and allow it to drain out. To install the new tank just reverse the steps above.
