Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. If the engine does not have any spark, I recommend accessing the ignition coil under the blower housing. Once you have access to the coil remove the kill wire from the coil. Then check the engine for spark. If the engine still does not have spark I recommend replacing the ignition coil. If the engine has spark there is a short in the kill system. To cure this problem you will need to track down the short in the circuit. If you need to parts you can order them from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. Please reply below with more details if you need further assistance.

Ok, In regards to the ignition coil and kill wire, where do I actually find them. my repair parts manual lists part # 20 584 01-S1 as Module, ignition. Is this what you are referring to, or some other part such as the solenoid Part # 192507 ?

I am sorry different manufactures call the ignition coil different names. I am referring to what the manual calls the Module, ignition. It is located next to the flywheel under the blower housing. If you go not have spark after removing the kill wire the Module, ignition is defective.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having difficulties installing the new mower belt. to install the belt you have to stretch the tension spring to get the belt on. The easiest way I have found to install the belt it to route it around all of the pulleys on the mower deck. Then lie on your side in front of the tractor. With one hand, hold the belt on one side of the pulley. Then while holding the belt on turn the engine pulley with the other hand to walk it on. This takes a bit of hand strength but can be done. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance on the tractor.

Thanks Mark T. Very helpful. Can you specify the part number I need? I purchased a 42 inch tractor belt (part # 7124690). However the Sears Parts Direct site indicates that I need # 197253. Can these be interchanged?

I have checked the part number for the mower deck belt. The part number I show for the belt is 197253. The dimensions for the belt should be 1/2 X 100.97". If you need to order the belt, you do so from the link I have provided below. Please let me know if you need further assistance with the tractor.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having problems with your tractor. I have checked your model and there is not an adjustment for the steering. I suspect there is a bent component somewhere. Most of the time when a part bends the paint will flake off. I have provided you with an image below showing the parts that could be bent. Please use the image to locate the parts on your tractor so you can inspect them. If the paint is flaking off, I would replace that part.

This tractor has a cast iron axle I suspect one of the spindles is bent. The cast iron will not usually bend it just breaks.

If you are not able to determine what part is bent you might need to have a service tech come out and repair the tractor.

I hope this is helpful.
