Thank you for your question on replacing the brake pads on the transaxle.

You may have to remove the mower deck to get enough room to work under the tractor.

Raise and safely support the tractor off the ground.

Remove the right rear wheel and tire from the tractor.

Then locate the brake rod and remove it from the brake lever on the side of the transaxle.

Then remove the screws and hardware that secure the outer brake caliper and the cotter pin and the adjuster nut on the brake arm

Once you have this removed you can remove the outer brake pad and pad spacer.

Make sure the pins that the caliper pushes on will slide in and out of the inner caliper.

Then remove the brake disc and the inner brake pad.

Clean the area and then install the new brake pad and the brake disc and place the out pad space and then the pad on to the outer caliper.

Re-install the brake arm and the adjuster nut for on the brake stud. Re-install the other screw that secure the brake assembly to the transaxle and the brake rod on to the brake arm.

Make use the brake assembly works smoothly and when you apply the brake the pads grab the brake and then release from the brake disc when released. You may have to adjust the nut with the cotter pin until you get it adjusted correctly.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for your question on changing the brake pads. You will need to support the tractor and remove the right left rear wheel to make access easier. I will give you some pictures and adjustment clearances. You do not have to dismantle the transmission but this picture shows the location on the side of the transaxle that illustrates the brake assebly on the outside of the tractors transmission. I hope this information will help you. Sam A.
