does my riding lawnmower have a carburetor oil filter to replace 917271822 Craftsman Lawn tractor

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is parts needed for the lawnmower.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Craftsman Tractor model number 917271822.

I have below the carburetor for this engine.   I see the original engine with a model number of
42E707-2631-E3 which is a Briggs and Stratton engine.

Here below are part numbers you would need and adviseable items to get.   When you change the carburetor, you should also change the fuel lines and fuel filter.   If you haven't been using Fuel stabilizer then get some of that so you won't have to worry about the carburetor going bad due to the "ethanol" gas out there and always, use fresh gas.  Never leave it set in a container very long.

Carburetor is part number 693480
Fuel line is 499167
Fuel filter is 394358
Spark Plug is 802592
Air filter is 394019
Pre air filter is 27490

I would contact our Sears Parts team over the phone.   Let them know that you want to order any of these parts and if you do get the carburetor, they will give  you free Shipping and Handling.  That will save $16.00.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you, The tractors model number is 917.274641 and the hydro transaxle model number is 314-0510-20. My original problem was an engine gasket was leaking i rebuilt the engine with no problems and it runs fine. However the pin on the back of the tractor that disengages the the wheels so i can push it was not working. I haven't replaced the oil in a long time so i went about removing the axle but one of the wheels was rusted on pretty good and the o-ring that holds the axle shaft to the gear inside broke free. i then continued to order a whole new seal and o-ring kit for the transmission and then opened it and replaced all the seal on the outside and replaced the broken o-ring with a new one. i made sure all gearing assembly was correct and everything matched the way it came apart and also matched the diagram in the book that came with the tractor. However after reinstalling the hydroaxle it will not engage and move either forward nor backwards.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. If you are sure the belt is turning the pulley on the top of the transaxle, I recommend checking both axle keys. If one of the keys is missing, the axle will turn but the wheels will not. The image below shows where the keys should be placed. Click on the image to enlarge it. If the keys are in place I suspect something in the transaxle is misaligned. I have found a website that has the service manual for the transaxle. Click here to load it. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Need Help with this issue too. TRACTOR MODEL NUMBER 917.271822 I had a flat tire in the back and removed it to get repaired. When I remove the tire I did not notice a "Key, Square" that you are talking about, there was a washer and a ring key looking thing bit no square key. I look up the manual and on page 38 I did notice this was listed as part number 77 123583X. I ordered two of them and went to put it on and it is not fitting in the slot that it looks like it is suppose to go in on the axle. I removed the other back tire and didn't not notice the key either. Are you sure this is a part for my tractor model?
