Hello Steven,

I would like to assist you with your clutch spring attachment location. Item #55, the clutch return spring, runs towards the front of the tractor and attaches near the front of the engine in a slot on the bottom plate where the engine mounts, or on the frame rail. Look for a bit of a longer slot that may have some very slight wear marks from the spring being mounted there prior. There is a good bit of tension on the spring, that will give you an idea of the approximate area.

Please let me know if you would like further assistance.
