Q:

unlabeled parts 917.271660 917.271660

A:

Okay I do see the 159 now and that is a cup holder. The part number is 155123X428.

As for the fuel tank it is held on by a screw. See engine diagram and it is key number 44 with the washer as key number 46.

I do apologize.

Natasha12 or to whom it may concern: 1) If you look on page 36 of the owners manual, directly under the words " Chassis and Enclosures" on the photo it gives a number! Location: Is upper left corner...about 1 in down... close to where the riders left hip would be. That number is **159**!!!!!! Now....when you take that number over to page 37 to match that number to the key numbers / parts numbers you will find that there is NO entry for the number that is on the photo on page 36!!!! It goes from: Key number 145=part number 156524 to Key number 206 = 170165 There is no listing or description there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you can't see it because it IS NOT THERE!!! Which is my question!!!!! What is it and the part number that goes with it!!!! It looks like some sort of cup holder! 2) I do not need a video of how to replace the tank!!! I want to know what parts secure THE TANK TO THE MOWER!!!! I.E. Brackets, clamps, hoses screws etc....they are missing!!! I have the tank....but it is secured incorrectly....with zip strips! 3) I was on searspartsdirect .com that is how I got here. The person I was chat'n with could not help and sent me here!!! I have the diagrams etc. they show nothing about what I am looking for....SO I am here. I have already been to see a Sears technician....they were NO more help than the last 4 or 5 people I have spoken with!!! Thank You!

Q:

Mower will not start Craftsman Lawn tractor

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your mower and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 917271660
and if the mower operates fine for a few minutes and then will not start sometimes indicates a bad ignition coil module. Here is a link testing the coil. When the coil begins to fail it will stop producing a spark and shut the engine off and will restart when the engine/coil has cooled down. When you are having a fuel issue the symptoms will differ from those that are electrical. When it is electricalmost of the time you will not hear anything but a little clicking. When it is a fuel issue you will get the engine to turn but will not turn on. Please resubmit any other details about your issue if this information does not help with your troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you Sherman, The Problem is the mower will not start on it's own. You are describing what was going on before, but we thought it was bad gas or water in the gas. It would run for a long time and then just die, I would wait a couple of minutes and it would start up again, would do this about 4 or 5 time before I finished mowing. So we changed the gas and still the same problem, thought we needed a new battery, then Alternator, then Solenoid just chasing the problem. Now I hope you or right and it's the ignition coil module that has gone out completely. Thank you, I hope this works
