Typically the axle bolt is not something that has to come out too often so it's not a constant issue in general. The engine (and muffler) is one of the last pieces to go on the tractor when in production as well. I've never asked as to why it's put in the way that it's put in but I'm sure the manufacturer does have a reason for the placement of the bolt. There are a few things like that on the tractors where it seems to take extra steps to remove something but invariably there is a valid production reason for it.

You're going about it the right way, so there's not really much I can add in the way of advice to make it easier.

I will say that it's a little bit awkward to get the muffler off while the engine is mounted on the tractor, but it is possible to do. On this particular one I use a long extension on my ratchet and then have a U-joint socket to get at the muffler mounting nut.

Thank you for your question.

I looked up the model number you have submitted. I think the nose roller was added to the tractor. We offered the nose roller as an option for this model. I did find a model that came with the roller. The part number is 532132264. The nose Roller is 9-5/8" long and 2-7 /8" in diameter. The roller can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the tractor.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
