Thank you for the reply, but again that's not what my parts manual/Sears Parts shows. I should've stated my engine number before, engine number CV15S Spec-NO. 41565. When I look it up it shows part number 12-085-03. Again the original has 3 wires (all are used on the mower) and the 12-085-03 has only two wires. Also whats the difference between 07s and 08s? They both look the same.

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Based upon tractor model 917259592, we show this unit to be manufactured in 1997. That would make the tractor about 17 years old.
Let us know if we can be of any further assistance and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Craftsman Snow Blade 486.24442, how does the lift arm work?

A:

Getting the right part mounted correctly on the tractor the first time is important. A suggestion I have to help the expert provide a better answer is to also add the tractor model number to this thread. I did attach the schematics for the snow blade which at least gives an exploded view of the parts when you scroll over so you can see the lift. Hope this helps!

I pulled a manual for a model very similar to yours, you can view/print/download it HERE .

On page 11 you will see the information on how the lift mechanism works from the operator end of the lift rod.

The actual locking part of the lift is made into the rod. It's like a cantilever on the lift rod that tips past a point to hold it up. If that is not locking into position it's worn out and the lift rod will have to be replaced. Try the directions listed in the manual I linked for you. If it still will not lock into place the rod is worn and will need to be replaced. You can go HERE if you find that to be the situation and need to order a new rod.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!
