Question and Answers

Q:

need help with a lawn tractor axle

A:

Parts diagrams are sometimes not helpful in really seeing how something fits together. The expert will review this model to respond. I did find a previous post with information that may provide a clue. I also added a manual that may provide better pictures and parts lists. I hope this information helps.

Joel I just did this on my craftsman tractor. Go on the partsdirect link on the Sears.com website put in your Model number and a exploded parts diagram will come up and you can see what parts you might have lost after it broke. If the same happened to you as with me you will probably need to replace the split spacer. One bad thing is Sears tells you that the axle is not serviceable which I have found out thats not true. I would recommend lifting up the back end of the tractor and looking at the axle and see who made it. Mine was made by tuff torq. You will find all the numbers on that little plate. I found mine on the backside of the axle right behind the bumper. If yours was made by tuff torq go to their website tufftorq.com and you can get all the parts there for a fraction of what Sears charges and they ship faster also.If you contact them they will send you by email directions along with pics on how to do the job. I found them really helpful
