Q:

My mower keeps blowing the fuse by the starter just started all the sudden 917258542 Craftsman Tractor

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. If the fuse blows right away, I recommend disconnecting the six-pin wire connector to the engine. Then replace the fuse, depress the brake pedal, and turn the key. If the fuse blows right away, the tractor has a short in the harness.

If the fuse does not blow, I suspect the problem is in the engine. It could have something to do with the charging system in this case.

Thank you for your question on the engine not starting unless you put fuel down the throat of the carburetor.

It sounds like the choke butterfly is not closing on the carburetor when you push the throttle up to the choke position.

Check the throttle cable to make sure the choke lever is completely closing when put to the choke starting position.

Please let me know what you find on the throttle choked setting.
