Thanks - I watched this video, but it doesn't show how to adjust the belt. My belt is the part no. recommended, but it's just slightly too big.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. I assume you are having a problem with the deck belt. I looked up the part number for the belt and it is part number 144959. If this is the correct belt, I recommend checking the pouting of the belt first. I have provided you with an image below that shows how the belt should be routed. I would also like to mention the belt is going to be loose until the engagement lever is raised. When the lever is raised, it moves the idler to tighten the belt. If the belt still does not tighten when the lever is lifted, I recommend having someone lift the lever while you watch the idler arm. The idler arm should move towards the back of the deck when the lever is lifted. If it is not moving, I suspect the idler rusted up over the winter. The easiest way to free it up is to remove the deck. Then loosen the pivot bolt and spray it with WD-40. Then move it back and forth to free it. Once it is moving, tighten the pivot bolt and check the operation.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Mark T, thank you - I don't know if this helped, but I did take the deck back off and WD40'd all the parts that I could. Put it all back together and it worked. I appreciate your response - thanks.
