Question and Answers

Q:

What to set the points gap at on a M#91725752 Garden Tracter? 91725752 Craftsman Ss

A:

Check on the engine and see if you can locate a model number for the engine itself. These old tractors could have had 3 or 4 different engines on them and I'll need to know which engine yours is to track down that information.

Q:

need fuel tank, guage, seat for model 917.25752 garden tractor. is there another model with parts we could use

A:

Not being able to find replacement parts is frustrating. Some of the older equipment would still go for years if certain replacement parts were available. I can often find parts to fit from local repair shops. That and maybe a site like ebay could be of some help. If you do decide to do some shopping, I see a sale at Sears .com. Good luck!

I’m afraid those parts have been no longer in production for quite some time. The only thing you might have luck with is the seat. For the most parts, the seats on any model could be modified with its corresponding bracket to work on your tractor. But I don’t find one that is a direct replacement.

On the fuel tank, you could either find a new plastic style tank that will fit in the same spot possibly. Another option on that is that if you have the old tank, take it to a welding shop and see if they can fab you one up from sheet metal. The fuel gauge I don’t think you will have much luck with unless you happen on one on the internet or from someone locally that happens to have one laying around.

This appears to be a tractor from the mid 1970’s so a great deal of the parts have been out of production for quite some time. Getting the machine in working order could be done; getting it in working order with original type parts will be a bit harder.
