A:

I know how important it is to have as much useful information about your appliance as possible so that it is easier to find replacement parts and part numbers. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your model number and the owners manual from the Manage My Life website. Hope this helps!

Q:

how do you disassemble transaxle on riding lawn mower

A:

The axles are held in the transaxle by c-clips. You will have to take the transaxle apart to repair it.

To remove the transaxle unscrew the shift knob and remove it. Prop the rear of the mower up and remove both rear wheels.

Disconnect the shift linkage from the transaxle.

Put a prop under the transaxle or get someone to hold it up while you remove the 4 bolts that hold the transaxle to the frame of the mower.

Remove the screws around the edge of the transaxle and set it with the pulley shaft up. Remove the pulley and clean the pulley shaft and the shift link shaft. Pry the top of the transaxle up and separate the top half from the bottom. The gears and shafts will stay in the bottom half if you are gentle in separating them.

Look on the bottom of the transaxle for a tag and get the model of the transaxle from the tag. Go to www.searspartsdirect.com and enter the model of the transaxle. You can see a parts diagram and list to help with the removal of the axles.
