engine quits when I let out brake. 917252610 Craftsman Lawn, tractor

Q:

How to check and add fluid to hydro-static trans. 917252610 Craftsman Lawn, tractor

A:

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. I will be happy to assist you with checking the oil level in the transaxle. First, you need to remove the four bolts that secure the draw bar/ back plate on the tractor. Then remove the draw bar/back plate. Once it is removed, you can see the transaxle. Before doing anything else I recommend cleaning the top of the transaxle. Once it is clean, follow the instructions in the image below. Just click on the image to enlarge it. Q:

light bearing, idler arm 917252610

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your lawn tractor. Upon researching model 917252610; the bell crank will have a bolt going from underneath up into the frame. You would need to remove the bolt to be able to change the bearing. The idler pulley has a bolt coming from the top to the bottom. Once remove the pulley will be able to be changed.

Thank you for choosing Sears. Have a great day.
