Q:

Tiller tines

A:

It is important to make sure you have the correct tines for your tiller. According to parts direct website the tines are no longer available. Thanks for waiting while the experts verify the part numbers for substitution will work for your model.

Yup, that's my problem, they're no longer available. What I need is someone to review the technical specs of the parts I've listed and see if they are in fact compatible. A technical specs drawing would do the trick to compare shaft diameter, tine spacing, pin placement, etc.

A:

Normally before Sears declares a part "no longer available" all possible replacements are researched. We don't have any information that the parts you listed are interchangeable.

I recommend you go to Sears.com and shop for a new tiller.

Than you for taking the time Jimmy to look into this for me, but you must be kidding! Shop for a new tiller?! Replacement for that is $1,250, and I should replace it because I can't seem to get someone to pull up some schematic drawings?! What a load of crud! If I can't get anyone to actually do the research that has access to this material I will go to a fabricator and have them weld me up some new shafts that can receive standard replaceable bolt on tines. Between fabrication & the new tines I can have it done for around $150...a far cry from the $1250 it would take to replace. If this is the expert opinion I must say I'm not very impressed. Thanks again for your time though Jimmy.

Jeff, I am sorry you did not like my answer. I did research the parts and there is no indication the parts will interchange. You did not send the model number of the tiller so I am not sure of the age. I am assuming the tiller is 12-20 years old and question whether putting $150.00 into it is the best decision. Good luck and thanks for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Where can I find the manual for the sleeve hitch?

A:

In order to get you the correct sleeve hitch information, I will need the model number from the tractor. The sleeve hitch is considered an accessory for the tractor, not the tiller. If you can get that number and resubmit your question, we'll be happy to get you the information.
