Q:

Model 917.250032 Choke cable 917.250032

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the discontinued choke cable. I know how frustrating that is.

This is a pretty old tractor, so it's not surprising that this cable would be discontinued at this point. The only viable option would be to run an online search for the part number to see if there is any new old stock available. If there was a substitution cable that would work, Craftsman would have subbed it in place, so the length or design of the cable is not compatible to newer versions. The cable part number was 121388X.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Craftsman Gt6000 Model # 917.250032 Onan 20hp Twin

A:

Harry, yes that would be the clutch stop and I see on sears parts direct that it is no longer available. but looking at your pics it is mounted there on the front. if you cant repair the wires for the clutch do you see the clutch is 434 dollars. if that stop mounted there by the clutch won't stop the clutch from spinning around in a circle the wires will just keep ripping out of the clutch. the good news is that you can make anything that will come out from where the old stop is mounted just so it catches a tab on the clutch so it can't turn completely around the ring. when you get it repaired just make sure the wires have enough length so when you engage the clutch and the clutch turns to the stop and is blocked from turning any further the wires still have a little play in them. so you can turn that clutch around the ring and it does not hit those tabs it looks like it would but then it may just be the pics.

TC is correct about the clutch stop and making one if you need to. Believe it or not, some models use a piece of leather that bolts into one of the clutch corners as a means of keeping it from spinning. I prefer the brackets like yours has.
