Q:

Lawnmower won't start 917385320

Q:

Need 2 screws for engine and "plastic chassis" 917385320 Craftsman Mower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

You won't be able to find any engine parts within the mower model. You will need to use the Briggs & Stratton engine model to find all the engine components, including the screws. Based upon the mower model, I show the engine as model number 10L902-0543-E1. I would recommend pulling up the engine schematic on Sears Parts and view the breakdown. I believe the screws you need are key numbers 969 and 305 on the diagram. I have linked it below for convenience.

Q:

How do I speed up the idle on my Craftsman lawn mower

A:

I understand how important it is to have your equipment working properly, especially when the grass needs to be cut. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I have found a link that will provide some information and instruction for the idle speed. I would suggest that you look at the parts diagram on www.searspartsdirect.com to see if there is a missing part. I hope that this will help you.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. If the mover is not coming up to speed, I recommend checking the linkage first. The first image below shows all of the linkage. Make sure it all moves freely. If it is fine and the spring is connected click on the second image. This image shows how to adjust the engine speed. The rpms should not me set higher than 3250.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Don,

I will be happy to assist you. I posted an image below that shows how the link should be connected. The image also shows how to adjust the engine speed. Click on the image to enlarge it. To adjust the speed on this model you just bend the tab the governor spring it attached to. Be sure to use a tachometer to verify the engine speed. It should be set to around 3200 rpm.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Chris,

I posted an image below that shows your model without the air filter. To speed the engine up you have to bend the tab that the spring is attached too. Bend the tab toward the front of the engine to speed it up. I recommend using a tachometer when you adjust the engine speed.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
