Q:

How do I initiate the self clean cycle on my Kenmore Range model 911.9368710?

A:

Remove the oven racks or they may turn blue and then be hard to slide out and in. Latch the door by swinging the door latch handle over to the locked position. Make sure that the clock works and is set for the correct time of day. Both start and stop knobs should be in the popped out positions and both pointing at the correct time. Push the stop knob inwards and rotate it 3 hours ahead of where it's pointing. Turn the selector switch to the clean position and the oven thermostat knob too if it has a clean position and the oven will begin the cleaning cycle. Once the time of day reaches the stop time the stop knob will pop out and shut the clean cycle off. NOTE: I do not recommend leaving the house while the range is in the self cleaning cycle.
