Question and Answers

Q:

Oven Broiler Element is hanging low in front 911.93471891

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Yes, there should be a couple support brackets securing the front of the broil element to the top of the oven cavity.

You can use a couple of short sheet metal screws to secure the broil element support brackets.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It could have a faulty electronic oven control or possibly a door latch switch failure. The door lock handle could also be bent causing the door latch switch to not open and break the circuit when it's in the fully unlocked position.

First, turn the oven control knob to the OFF position and then set a bake temperature and see what happens.

The main top can be hinged open to access the door lock mechanism. After raising the top you will see a cover in the front center area that must be removed to access the door lock assembly. When the handle is moved to the unlocked position, the micro switch must open/break the circuit. NOTE: Disconnect the range from the power source if you plan on testing the door lock switch to see if it's breaking the circuit. You can disconnect the wires from the switch and test the switch operation with an Ohm meter to see if the switch is open or closed.

This may be the issue. If not, please reply and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
