Question and Answers

Q:

Not able to regulate oven temperature. 9119334190 Kenmore 30" electric free standing range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry to hear of the issue you're having turning the oven off and not being able to regulate the temperature.
The range uses a temperature probe sensor to sense the oven cavity's temperature, which it then sends to the electronic control board to provide the power source for more or less heat.
With your mention that it will not turn off, that sounds like an electronic control board short where the relay for the power is stuck on. In this case, a replacement board would more than likely be required. Unfortunately, the boards are no longer being manufactured, and the only viable repair option would be to send your board off to be rebuilt, which could take 6-8 weeks.
If you are interested in the repair, you can contact our board repair facility, CCS, at 1-866-737-2244. Otherwise, a replacement range will be the only other option I can foresee.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Besides setting the oven control to clean you must also manually lock the oven door by sliding the door lock handle to the lock position.

I added a link to the Use and Care Guide with the instructions for starting a self cleaning cycle.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks Joey S. I needed that manual and couldn't find it online. Myk nob on my stove has lost all of the printing so I was guessing about self cleaning feature. As it was I was just putting it on broil . The self cleaning part is down the knob on the left halfway. Thanks again.

I understand your concern and the part that needs replacing is the surface burner infinite switch that controlled the element that shorted out. When the surface element burnt out/shorted it caused the infinite/burner switch to fail.

Replace the infinite switch/burner switch and your surface element will operate again. NOTE: Pay attention to where the wires connect before taking them off the old switch and transferring them to the new switch and be sure to disconnect the power supply before accessing and replacing the infinite switch.

Be sure to order the correct infinite switch part#WB23K5027 which is for the large element.
