Question and Answers

Q:

Error Code F2 9117360190 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. Thank you for your question. I can understand how frustrating an error code on your range can be. Especially because the range is so important to the home.

The "F2" fault code means "Oven Over Temperature". The oven exceeded 624 degrees with the door unlocked or it exceeded 925 degrees with the door locked.

If no over temperature conditioned occurred; look for high resistance connection or other cause of high resistance in the temperature sensor circuit. It could also have a faulty oven temperature sensor too. I recommend removing and disconnecting the oven temperature sensor. The oven sensor can be located inside the oven cavity on the rear wall. The oven temperature sensor should measure approximately 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the oven sensor measures 1100 ohms, reconnect and install the oven sensor. Next, in order to check for high resistance in the connections,

Disconnect the range from the power supply and access the electronic oven control/clock and disconnect the oven temperature sensor harness. Re-measure the resistance of the sensor circuit. It should measure approximately 1100 ohms or read what was measured directly across the sensor leads. If the resistance measures the same at the control board as it did at the sensor then I would have to assume the oven control board is faulty.

Both items are no longer available.  If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician.

If you would like a Sears technician to complete the repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this helps you. Have a great day!

I'm sorry to hear that your stove is not working. I understand how frustrasting that can be especially when you have kids. At this point I will need a little bit more information. Does the oven not heat up at all? Did it stop heating after a self-cleaning cycle? Was the range installed or serviced recently?

Why is our Kenmore Gas Oven, model 9117360190 displaying an error code of f-3?

The F3 error code indicates a temp sensor error. You will need a volt/ohm meter to test the temp sensor. Disconnect the 15 pin plug in connector & ohm out pin 12 to pin 13 on the harness. The temp sensor should read approx 1100 ohms at 75 degrees room temperature. If the temp sensor checks good then I recommend replacing the EOC electronic oven control.
