I understand needing further information regarding the repair to your electric range. I know it can become frustrating to experience this type of issue so I am happy to help. The link Joseph has provided offers good information for this type of situation, click here to review. But if you are sure it is not the heat from the vent, it is more than likely the infinite control/switch at fault. However, since this is an older unit I show that this part is no longer available to order. Generally when the part shows as no longer available and the manufacturer has no substituted part, it would be better to go to a local repair shop in your area. Just be sure to have the model number of your unit to see if compatible parts can be located. Just because Sears is not selling it does not mean this part is not available somewhere else.
