Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Kenmore 911.49479790 oven still beeping after I ran the self clean?

A:

You did not make clear if the beeping only happened during cool down and if it stopped after the cool down.

If the oven is still beeping I recommend first turning the power off at the breaker for a few minutes and turn it back on and see if it still beeps.

By now you may have already tried this. A constant beeping is most likely caused by a stuck keypad.

If it is still beeping check the door lock status. In self clean it has to lock but it should unlock at the end of the cycle.

If this does not help resolve your problem then I recommend a technician check this problem.

Q:

How do I get the installation manual for my Kenmore oven?

A:

The best way to get the information you need is to order the installation instructions from www.sears.com part number 31-10255. I would send you a link or copy but I could not find it available anywhere else.

Q:

What part will I need to fix my Kenmore oven if it is flashing an F4 error code?

A:

The F4 error code is an indication of an open or shorted sensor circuit.

First disconnect electrical power to the oven.

In order to determine the exact cause of this failure you will need to check the resistance of the sensor with an ohm meter. The sensor's resistance will be approximately 15 ohms at room temperature. If it shows open then you will need to replace the sensor. If the sensor checks OK then the sensor circuit will have to be checked. This includes checking the resistance the harness from the control board to the sensor, and also checking for a loose plug-in harness connector at the control board.
