Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my Kenmore oven not keeping accurate temperatures?

A:

On something like this you will need to check the temp sensor with an ohm meter. If the temp sensor & harness checks good then you will need to replace the ERC (clock). Most of the time the temp sensor will not cause the oven temperature to be 75 degrees off. ERC; WB27T10221 www.searspartsdirect.com

Q:

Why can’t I set the temperature of my oven below 300 degrees?

A:

As long as you are sure you are setting the controls correctly, this problem is going to be the electronic control or the oven temp sensor. The only way to make this test is with a meter. If you are able to set the temp to settings below 300 degrees but the unit heats higher, I would suspect the temp sensor. If the control will not accept commands to lower the temp below 300 degrees, I would suspect the electronic control.
