What does the error code F-2 mean on a Kenmore oven?

A:

The "F2" fault code is meaning the oven temperature exceeded 590 degrees with the door unlocked or 990 degrees with door locked. See image below.

I recommend disconnecting the oven temperature sensor probe and checking the resistance of the sensor probe using an ohm meter. If the temperature sensor probe measures 1100 ohms at room temperature the likely cause of the "F2" code is a faulty oven control.

The oven sensor probe is located inside the oven cavity in the back upper left hand corner. I can be removed from inside the oven cavity for testing.
