Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I do not have a clear understanding of the problem. You say it heats up to 350 but you did not indicate what it will no do. If it will not heat any hotter than 350 degrees, it could have a faulty oven temperature sensor or possibly a faulty bake or broil element. It could even have a faulty electronic oven control.

The first thing to check and confirm is if both oven elements (Bake and Broil) will heat. If both oven elements will heat, I recommend disconnecting the oven temperature sensor probe and check the Ohm resistance using an Ohm meter. The oven temperature sensor should measure approximately 1100 Ohms of resistance at room temperature.

The oven sensor is located inside the oven cavity in the rear upper left or right hand corner. I added a YouTube video showing how to test the oven temperature sensor. I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before servicing.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

That F2 code indicates that the control detects an over-temperature condition in the oven. If this code is being displayed when the oven is a room temperature, then I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breakers for the oven and check that oven temperature sensor probe. The image below shows how to access that sensor probe. Here is a brief video that shows how to test that sensor using a volt/ohm meter: Oven Sensor Testing . That sensor should measure around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is high then that component will need to be replaced. You can order that sensor from this page: Oven Temperature Sensor Probe for Kenmore Oven 911.4742994 .

If the sensor is okay, then you can plug that component back into the wire harness. You can then check the resistance of that entire sensor circuit from the oven control circuit board in the console. If that sensor resistance is okay, then you will probably need to remove that control board and send it off for repair. That control board replacement part is no longer available. You can send it to Core Centric Solutions for repair if necessary. Here is a link for that company that has contact information: CoreCentricSolutions.com . The cost to repair that control board is normally around $150.

I hope that these tips help. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
