Q:

Older Kenmore Range, with downdraft venting. Model 911.4698813: Customer was in and explained that she continues to get a CODE F-1.

A:

A non working Range is not something any of us want to see. If you are technically handy, this is a good site to get instruction and fix some things yourself. If you do not feel confident doing your own repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the scheduler. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check the bottom links for some possibilities. Hope this is of help.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added the list of fault codes in the image below. The "F1" fault code generally implies a faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

From what you’re describing it sounds like a loose connection on the control board. I recommend having the control board harness plugs checked by a service technician.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore oven displaying an F3 code?

A:

The F3 error code indicates a problem with the temp sensor circuit. The temp sensor is the probe that regulates the oven temperature. If the sensor fails you will get the F3 error code. I recommend having the sensor checked & replaced if needed. Another possibility is a wiring problem, loose connections or pinched wires.
