Question and Answers

Q:

My kenmore 911.4672593 range does not heat properly. 911.4672593

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. We, at Sears, value your service.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the range.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Kenmore range model number 911.4672593.

The oven is working but I see it isn't getting to the correct temperature desired so you can cook a pizza.   May I ask is the upper broil element is working.   When the bake is on for the bottom element of the oven , the broil element works with the bake element and should be lit also.   I have below a way to test both of the elements.

Test both the upper and lower elements.   If both are good then most likely you will need a new oven sensor.

1.  For safety reasons, unplug the range/oven or disconnect the power.

2.   Look first to see if there are any visible signs of burned spots or separations on either element.

3.  Unscrew, one element at a time.   Then remove the element.   Be careful in not letting the wires go back into the oven hole.

4.  Attach the wires of a multimeter to the ends of the elements.  If your elements measures less than 50 ohms the problems will not be with the element.  If you have a high resistance reading, you may need to replace the elements.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know what F2 means on the range.

The F2 can be a number of things but the most probable issue is the oven temperature sensor.

If you have a volt/ohm meter you can check the sensor resistance to see if it is in calibration.

It should read 1100 ohms at 75 degrees.

If you choose to replace the sensor, the part number is: WB21X5301 and you can purchase it from: Sears Parts Direct .

If the sensor checks to be okay then I would suggest that you have a technician check the other circuits.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life

Q:

I have a Kenmore 30" radiant slide-in range flashing F 1. Is the oven control board out? Is it okay to use the cooktop?

A:

The F1 fault code indicates either a stuck key on the touchpad or a failed transistor inside the electric range control (ERC). Either one would require replacing the ERC. The part number for the erc is WB27k5140R and the cost is around $160.00.

The cooktop should continue to work and it is safe for you to use it.
