Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your model does not have an electronic oven control. It has mechanical oven thermostat.

The "STOP" knob must be pushed in and it must remain in and the "Start" knob must be in the out position in order for the oven to heat. If the "STOP" knob is in and "START" knob is out and the oven will not heat; the oven thermostat is likely faulty. The oven thermostat can be tested for continuity with an Ohm meter.

The oven thermostat has several terminals. When the thermostat is turned on, terminals 1 and 2 must close and believe it will have two orange colored wires connected to terminals 1 and 2. You will have to remove the two wires before measuring across the terminals for continuity. The thermostat must also close terminals L and BA which I believe will have a red and yellow wire attached for bake. Also, terminals L and BR must close which I believe will have a red and purple wire for broil operation. NOTE: Be sure and disconnect the power supply from the range before accessing and testing the oven thermostat.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
