Question and Answers

Q:

Why doe my Kenmore range model 911.46566893 show all 8's on the control panel?

A:

This symptom indicates that the oven control board has failed. You will need to replace this part to fix the range. You can order a new control board from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is WB27T10417.

My range is a year newer and I found that if I cut the power, pulled the stove out a few inches, took the screws out just above the oven door and on either end of the control panel I could drop the panel to get at the electrical plug-ins on the panel. Make note of where the wires are connected and disconnect them. Gently tap on the resistors and capacitors and anything else that looks like it could have influence, with you screw driver; let sit for a few minutes and then reconnect the wires. Make sure that nothing is touching the electrical connections and then turn on the power to see if this works. If it does cut power and put back together. I've had the 8's and an F1 error and this procedure has worked for me twice in the past 3 years. Much cheaper than a whole new panel!
