I wonder if anyone has an opinion on whether getting two error codes (f2 and f3) on a Kenmore that is about 14 years old indicates that I should replace versus repair.

Thank you for your question on the error codes F2 and F3.

These error codes usually point to the oven temperature sensor has gotten out of calibration and will need to be replaced.

It is not a real difficult thing to change if you have some basic mechanical ability and some basic tools.

If you a multi-meter you can check the sensor to see if it is with-in calibration.

If should be 1050 to 1100 ohms at room temperature across the wire connections.

Please let me know if you want to repair this yourself. The part number is: WB21X5301 for about $75.00 plus shipping and handling, and I can give you some instruction on the replacement of the part.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If would be a good idea to check the part before replacing it.

Already replaced the temp sensor assembly, could this issue be the clock/oven control board?

A:

Thank you for your question Michael on the range. You may want to check the wire harness all the way to the clock/oven control board to may sure you have the correct ohm reading at the control before you change it. If you are getting the 1050 to 1100 ohms reading at the sensor control contacts disconnected from the control connector then I would suggest replacing the control. Sam A.
