Question and Answers

Q:

. The oven is not working.

A:

A non working Oven is not something any of us want to see. If you are technically handy, this is a good site to get instruction and fix some things yourself. If you do not feel confident doing your own repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the scheduler. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check the bottom link for some possibilities. Hope this is of help.

There are several thermal cut-off components in this unit that will completely shut off power to the oven control board. It is likely that one of these is tripped. I recommend that you have a technician diagnose and repair this type of failure since this oven has a microwave magnetron in the oven. There are high voltage components in that system that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the electrical power is completely shut off to the unit. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I set up the self cleaning cycle for my Kenmore oven?

A:

I’m sorry; the owner’s manual is not available for this model number. You should be able to set the cycle control to clean, lock the door & set the timer for 3 hours & press start. If you have a digital camera, you can send us a photo of the controls for your range & maybe we can tell you the self cleaning set up.
