Q:

stove keeps beeping and flashing F1

A:

Beeping, flashing and error codes can leave you scratching your head. I checked the expert archives and found a previous post that can help explain what. That is the first link below. The second link is to Sears Parts Direct if you would like to check parts and prices. The third link is to Sears Home Services scheduler if you would like to schedule a technician to visit to make repairs. Hope some of this information helps.

A:

The F1 error code on your range indicates a transistor has failed inside the electronic range control (clock). The clock might need to be reset.

Disconnect the power to the range for 2-3 seconds and reconnect it. This will cause the clock to reset itself and will sometimes cure a fault code.

If the beeping and the F1 continue, you will need to replace the clock.

The clock on your range is no longer available for ordering. You can get a Sears technician to remove the clock and send it in for rebuilding. If the clock continues to beep and display F1 you can go to Home Services or call 1-800-4myhome to schedule service.

I looked at the wiring diagram and the components for that oven light. That switch is not connected to the control board as shown in the diagram below. It is located in the console so those wires could have been disturbed during that repair. If they were pulled off but not connected back to the switch when that control board was replaced in the console, then I recommend that you contact Sears and have the technician return to your home and correct that problem.

There is a chance that the light switch is broken and will need to be replaced. If you want to repair that type of problem yourself and you need help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
