I know how important it is to have detailed information about your appliances in case repairs are ever needed. I did some research and I was able to find a link that will guide you in finding the information you seek. I hope this helps in finding the age of your range while you wait for your expert response.

The website above was wonderful. Only problem is I still don't know how old my particular stove is. I thought that with Model and Serial Numbers that I would be able to zero in on this one, but the reply said that the product could have been manufactured on multiple dates. Personal assistance will be needed to date the product more accurately. Since Sears couldn't help me, and this was my next stop, I'm throwing in the towel. Thanks for trying to help me though.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. The 911.4538690 range shows to have been manufactured in 1976 or 1986. Generally, once the oven interior has lost the brightness there's no way to restore it outside of having the manufacturer repaint it in an assembly line. The self cleaning and wiping down with soap and water will keep it as clean as possible. I hope this helps.

In the future if you are looking to replace the range feel free to visit Sears.com to compare models.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Joseph and Jon: And I thank you for your further explanation. It is not a self-cleaning oven, so good old elbow grease is what it takes. I didn't figure it would come back to life no matter what I tried. The honest truth is the stove is in my daughter's apartment, and she is getting ready to move. I'm trying to help her clean, and the oven was my challenge. I was trying to confirm that the stove had been in her apartment for a long time even before her, and there was no way to bring it back to life. She has no clue what it looked like when she first moved in. Her generation doesn't think about things like that. :o} I just wanted to make sure she wasn't going to be held accountable for the looks. I bet the apartment complex is going to replace all the appliances once she moves out. Again, thanks so much for all your help and to all experts.
